Hello Sam has a new reinvented menu and now it contains Melbourne Fried Chicken tenders on it, woohoo its time for a review

Hollywood went for an order of the spicy sam burger and the southern fried chicken tenders

The chicken here is a side dish that has 3 pieces of tenders with coleslaw and chipotle mayo

The spicy sam on the hand, was a great mess of a burger with the right level spiciness!

The chicken was really good. Crispy and crunchy, freshly cooked, breast pieces. It wasn’t over spiced but thats what the chipotle mayo was there for, a good sidekick!

Overall, Hello Sam has stepped up its game with the new menu and the fried chicken tenders are really good and their buddy the chipotle mac-n-cheese is a good partner in crime to have as well (not captured in this review, but tried and tasty)

Cambridge Brewing Company – A Captain’s Review

The captain was at MIT and needed some dinner after a long day of study.

A short walk from campus and we found the Cambridge Brewing Company (1 Kendall Sq Bldg 100 Cambridge MA). They had “pickle brined fried chicken” on the menu with mac n cheese and butter beans.

The meal was delivered relatively quickly (within 15 minutes).

The chicken was hot, lightly spicy and quite tasty. I received 2 reasonable size pieces. The coating was crispy.
Mac n Cheese was very cheesey of a medium size and the butter beans were an ideal accompaniment.

Overall a very nice ‘comfort food’ meal, nothing spectacular but not disappointing.

Sonny’s

Hollywood and his mate The Guns finally visited Sonny’s for some Melbourne Fried Chicken.

Ok, so be warned, the pieces of chicken at Sonny’s are freakin huuuge! and yes we definitely over ordered

So as you can see, the chicken pieces at Sonny’s are massive. All the pieces come with bones, usually one big bone which makes it a bit easier to handle. It was all fresh and tasty. It resembled a bit of a KFC taste, nothing wrong with that. However one thing that didn’t sit well was the coating separated easily from the chicken and underneath that was the fatty skin just sitting there. Not the best of things to see but we still ate it all anyway.
