Merrywell has redone their menu and now there are a few Melbourne Fried Chicken burger options so Hollywood decided thats its time for the chicken scene review

The burger of choice was the Buffalo burger.

To Hollywood’s surprise the mix for this burger was truely awesome. Having the buffalo sauce was such an awesome variation that added some great spiciness to the mix and the blue cheese aioli with bacon were solid flavours.

However the only beef we had with this chicken burger was that it was too bunny. The bread seemed a bit thick which made Hollywood think it was rather stale.

This was such a shame and we hope Merrywell does fresh bread as everything else was great.

Having a great Melbourne Fried Chicken staple in close proximity to us is such a heavenly blessing to have. It was around the holiday period and it was time to get fat, greasy and celebrate this season, so away we went to Leonard’s House of Love to enjoy their great vibes and amazing fried chicken.

Leonard’s chicken was spot on. Big pieces of breast meat, double coated and breaded right with good spices. The mild version is a little bit spicy which is just perfect. The chicken is tender and always cooked fresh! Crunch all the way!

We also ended up ordering the cauliflower nachos which the chick really dug!

We also had some good ol’ pinball fun to kiss 2016 away

This place has been on our radar for a long time now. It boasts some highly raved about Melbourne Fried Chicken and we finally managed to make a visit to it with our good friends!

We were delighted to find fish tacos on the menu, one of The Chick’s most loved types of tacos.

Having four of us there we decided to go with the special Fish Tacos and the Fried Chicken Cookout Box. The box consisted of 9 pieces of fried chicken, popcorn chicken with pickles, a ton of fries, coleslaw and various different sauces

The fish tacos were really amazing. full of flavours and colour. The contrast of flavours of fish, mango, avocado, jalapenos, greens made it a winner.  

The chicken was order was huge and looked daunting. But we got through it!

The popcorn chicken mix with the pickles was really good. Additionally the coleslaw was very fresh and tasty and the shoestring fries were very moreish

The chicken pieces were freshly cooked however they were closer to being KFC like as they lacked spices and seemed only single coated. In all fairness it was really good freshly cooked southern style chicken. The thigh pieces were a bit greasy but the breast was fully spot on

Although the chicken seemed like a strong contender it didn’t hit our favourites list. However their burgers do look really amazing. Maybe a comeback for those?
